Nino Papachashvili
Ostfold University in Norway
Nino Papachashvili, head of the Sabauni Institute of Development Studies and professor at the Faculty of Business and Technology, visited Ostfold University in Norway with the Erasmus+ academic staff mobility program.
In the frame of the visit, professor Papachashvili delivered lectures for Norwegian students on the topic of international economics. In addition, she held working meetings with the colleagues from the various faculties, where they planned to include Sabauni in the ongoing project of sustainable development and circular economy. The colleagues agreed on future cooperation in the direction of participation in international conferences and joint scientific-practical seminars.
"Participating in the mobility of the Erasmus+ program has multiple benefits: you get to know the common experience of the functioning of other universities, which first of all starts with getting to know the university environment. For example, the university environment at Ostfold University is characterized by a large amount of student space and thus an environment that is best suited to students; additionally, each professor has an individual work space, making the university environment appealing to professors; and adequate spaces are provided for communication between professors and other staff during free time. As a result of my meetings, Norwegian colleagues from the faculty of computer studies, engineering, and economics will be involved in the activities planned by the Faculty of Business and Technology (external evaluation of programs, international conferences, scientific-practical seminars of the Institute of Development Studies, publication of the English-language journal of development studies), which will contribute to the realization of the research potential of our professors and raise the professionalism of our professors." - Nino Papachashvili.
The Erasmus+ academic mobility of Prof. Papachashvili took place between April 8 and 12. Within this program, students from the faculty of business and technology are able to study one semester at the University of Ostfold.
